Flatbed Cutter FAQ |
Q. Why don't you supply "off the shelf" systems?
A. Though this is a future consideration for our flat bed cutters, we have found in the past that nearly all customers have either a special requirement for their process, or have requested not to have components that they would not find useful. Also, with the wide range of industries we serve, there is simply no standard specification for the cutting area and/or tool options that apply to everyone.
Q. How complicated are these systems to operate?
A. Our systems are very user friendly. A basic computer knowledge is an advantage, but even an inexperienced person, with suitable training, could be running a system in a few days.
Q. What is the delivery time?
A. Generally 14-16 weeks from payment of the deposit, depending on production scheduling and availability of components.
Q. How do I deal with maintenance?
A. We offer a competitively priced service contract, which allows the equipment to be serviced at regular intervals without breaking the bank. We also train your maintenance staff on the day to day care of your equipment.
Q. How do I cut shapes using my existing drawings?
A. The DNC software is very flexible and can recognize many file types. If your drawings were created with a CAD program and are of an obscure file type, you can even check with the program you used to see if you can save as a DXF (drawing exchange format) to enable compatibility.
Q. Do I get free support?
A. Yes, for the first year you will receive free telephone support over and above the standard warranties. Thereafter support is provided as part of the service contract.
Q. How do I decide what type and size of system to buy?
A. We will spend time with you to help decide upon the right specification of your system. We will look at your production requirements, the size of the material to be cut, and the size of the cut pieces. We will then carry out trials on some material samples in order to decide on the most effective cutting tool and what power to use. Once all these factors have been agreed, we will prepare a formal quotation with a detailed breakdown of all costs.
Q. Who installs the equipment?
A. A team of two or more engineers will install and commission your system on site. Training will also be provided for your operators and maintenance staff.
Q. Where can I get more information?
A. Please feel free to contact us with regard to additional information not contained within the website. We would be pleased to supply you with photographs, brochures and, where applicable, video resources relevant to your enquiry.
Q. What is the next step?
A. Fill in our online form and either submit it online or print it out and fax it to us with as much detail as possible, and we will contact you to discuss your requirements.
