Background

We have been working as a team, producing a wide range of systems for over 14 years. Our wide experience extends over a range of sectors from the car industry to sail makers and food manufacturers. This gives us a head start in any task required of us by the end user.

We have been involved in the manufacture of over 100 systems which can be found in countries including: Germany, Holland, Denmark, Turkey, Spain, Finland, Portugal, Greece, Austria, Italy, South Africa, Japan, Australia, Canada and the UK.

We have supplied to a variety of sectors including: Sailmaking, car manufacture, blind & awnings manufacture, marquees, tents, fabric, metal working, hangliders, paragliders, balloons, parachutes, textiles, ceramics, aerospace, toolmakers and many more...

During Spring 2002, Spectrum was awarded the coveted S.M.A.R.T award for innovative ideas & technological capabilities.  We are pleased that our efforts should be rewarded in this way, and hope to continue pushing the boundaries of technology in new and exciting ways.

In recent years, Spectrum has been particularly active in developing and manufacturing the Vectaspark electrical discharge machine, a technology also known as EDM, EDG, or spark erosion. It is in this area that Gareth Fletcher, project manager of the Vectaspark development, enjoyed much success during the late 80's before moving on to other areas of interest. Some years later, Gareth and the team at Spectrum felt that the spark erosion process could be bettered, and developed a new spark generator technology that would be utilised in a new improved machine simliar to the Microspark series that he had developed previously.  

The team are now fully producing Vectaspark systems in addition to designing and building custom built flat bed cutters - providing a vast range of engineering solutions to workshop production across the globe.
